The Middle School Teacher promotes the school’s vision and mission through the delivery of a coherent, articulated, and subject-based curriculum using contemporary educational practices. The teacher ensures that all students are engaged, challenged, and successful through responsive teaching approaches and collaborative professional practice. The role also includes modeling the school’s values and contributing actively to the development of a professional learning community.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Use contemporary educational methods and practices to implement the YPJ Teaching and Learning Framework with particular attention to the learning intentions, trans-disciplinary skills and values of the school.
- Promote the vision, purpose and values of the school which are inherent components of the school program.
- Actively contribute to developing, implementing, evaluating, and improving the IB MYP school-based curriculum to nurture international-mindedness and ensure a challenging, coherent, and guaranteed learning experience.
- Use responsive assessment and instruction to meet the needs of all students and personalize learning, paying particular attention to the cultural and language backgrounds of students.
- As a part of the assessment process use a range of formative assessments and timely, targeted feedback to improve student achievement appropriate with YPJ assessment policies and practices.
- Plan, manage, and document appropriate learning that promotes student engagement using the YPJ Unit Planner and Share-point documentation management system.
- Facilitate every student to explore, and develop his/her potential to achieve personal excellence.
- Develop a caring nurturing learning environment that promotes student well-being and social-emotional health.
- Fulfill all professional responsibilities, including effective supervision, attendance at meetings, collaborative planning, and participation in school events.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the leadership team to enhance teaching and learning, and engage in reflective practice to improve student outcomes.
- Use the YPJ Teacher Appraisal system to set professional goals for self-improvement.
- Communicate effectively with students and parents on learning and ensure partnerships are developed to intervene and support student learning.
- Conduct all school activities, in a safe and environmentally compliant manner to comply with Yayasan and PTFI policies and procedures.
- Support the ASA, extracurricular, and service-learning programs.
- Participate in the substitute duty roster as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Education in Indonesian Language and Literature, preferably with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
- Understanding of the IB Curriculum and National Curriculum frameworks.
- Open-minded, creative, and reflective professional attitude.
- Strong technology integration skills and willingness to innovate.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a multicultural school environment.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
